Texarkana’s most comprehensive Museum

Texarkana’s first and oldest museum houses the region’s most extensive variety of historical collections depicting the history of the area from the time of the Caddo through the founding of Texarkana and beyond. Located in the historic Offenhauser Insurance Building built in 1879, this museum includes interactive exhibits that explore the musical history of the region and tell the story of native son Scott Joplin, the “Father of Ragtime.”

MoRH is also the home of the Wilbur Smith Research Library.  A public access research kiosk with photographs and city directories  is available during regular operating hours on our first floor and assistance is available at the front desk.
